Knowledge transfer. A guide that helps! from lostarkgame

i reach yorn on my alt.. 600 level gear.. i want to ask is it better to knowledge transfer and skip yorn msq and then manualy complete feiton? or i do the yorn quest reach 960 then skip feiton main quest? i want to knowledge transfer only 1 contitent..so which one is better

So on the knowledge transfer feature. I understand that it let's you "boost" another character pr. character you have levelled/boosted with powerpass. What I do not know is how it works for higher tiers.

- If i have a character in Punika, does it still only boost the char past Vern + Shushire?- Can i boost a character which has sufficient ilv. through Rohendel and later continents? If so, do i need to have another char (so 2 total) past rohendel, or does it still "draw" from the same char which I used to boost it past bern? Ie. assuming i have 1 char in Punika would i be able to boost a character to bern by transferring knowledge, upgrade it's ilv. and then boost it through rohendel too?

- Does the char "giving" the knowledge transfer have to be significantly further in the boost available? Like can I boost a char right after I passed Shushire, or do I need to go all the way to Rohendel?

I'm still new to the game and wanted to know if it's worth transferring knowledge a character to tier 3. I'm assuming it is worth it if gold is not an issue, but is this worth doing?

Please note that all the info in this post is based on current KR build. NA/EU release build might differ.

"Knowledge Transfer" is a in-game feature that allows you to quickly level up your alts (or additional mains) without having to hassle through all the clicking and time spending.

This can be seen as a FTP version of power pass, and as such, it has some limitations, compared to its paid-version counterpart.

This feature is not available from the very beginning. This is a feature available from your Stronghold, so you need to first acquire it (Liberate Lutheran castle), and level up your Stronghold until you get the notification saying the feature is unlocked.

Also, you need to have a character that already went through a specific MSQ checkpoint in order to use this feature.

Currently, there are 5 checkpoints that serves as "destination" for boosting your alts.

North Bern : 600G (transfer process takes 8 hours)

Rohendel : 1,000G (transfer process takes 8 hours)

Yorn : 1,400G (transfer process takes 8 hours)

Feiton : 1,600 (transfer process takes 8 hours)

Punika : 2,400 (transfer process takes 8 hours)

Another requirement is item level, which is identical to those when you manually progress.

You cannot skip to the very end, so you have to do each step. Getting a new alt freshly out of tutorial to Punika will take at least 40 hours. (You have to check in every 8 hours to manually renew the process)

You can still play the game with the character going through transfer. When the transfer is done, you will get a notification. Go back to the NPC to complete the process, and you will instantly "jump" to the destination, along with the basic gear&accessories (Jumping to North Bern will give you a basic 302 set, and jumping to Yorn will give you a basic 802 set)

This feature won't provide you with mats, so you will have to farm those to level up your gear.

This feature is designed in a way that you cannot use this on your alt all the time.

When you try to use this on your 2nd alt, it will tell you that you need to have 3 characters that have cleared MSQ. As you use this feature on more alts, it will require you to have more characters that completed MSQ.

This means you have to either manually level up your 2nd alt, or take the quick way of buying power pass. Your 3rd alt will be able to use Knowledge transfer without problem since you already met the condition.

This cycles continues. You can see from the screenshot that my Bard cannot use Knowledge Transfer to Feiton because I need 7 characters that completed Feiton MSQ. (I currently have 6)

You get all the critical rewards, including any mounts and pets you pick up along the way (in case of choosing one from 3 different colors, you can choose different ones for your alts to get all the colors. As for pets, they are identical to one you main got, so it won't duplicate pets)

One thing you miss out is card reward, especially one you get from latter half of the first continent (between level 28~36).

This particular card is a crucial part of important card set, and is the 2nd most easily accessible part of the set. (First being Seria card which you can buy from wandering merchant)

If you are in for a long run, you can save a lot of time by leveling your alts to the point of getting that card before boosting it with Knowledge Transfer.

When you use knowledge transfer on your alts from lostarkgame

When you try to use knowledge transfer, it won't let you select someone in your roster. It only lets you use knowledge transfer on the character you are currently logged on as. This means that you need to get to your stronghold with the character you want to boost to 50.

To do this, you must choose your class, complete the prologue scene with Arman, and do the first ~5 minutes of quests within Prideholme until the southern rapport NPC gives you the Song of Escape. At that point your character will have access to all the songs your roster currently has, and you can play the Song of Hearth and Home to go to your stronghold and pick that new character to do the knowledge transfer with. This isn't really intuitive, so I hope this helps someone out.

From my understanding it doesn't change your item level or anything right? It just completes all the quest from that area? Does this include every quest in that area like the optional side quest, the main story quest, or all quest completed from the character your transferring from? Do you lose out on any meaningful rewards?
