The way you described the problem leads me to believe you are playing your own music that is on your computer or other device. If that's the case, if you are on your computer, launch the iTunes app. select Accounts. Log out of your iTunes account and then log back in. If you are using an iPad or iPhone, select Settings, look for iTunes & App store. Click on the link at the top labeled Apple ID: your account...Select Log out. Then log back in. If you are now playing music entirely with Sonos you will have to do this periodically.

I realize there is endless discussion about problems with reauthorizing apple music, but my question is simply ...why? Why is this necessary? Why does it sometimes happen multiple times in a week?

BTW I use both S1 and the later systems in different locations. It happens at both.

This is not urgent, it’s just bothersome.

Thanks very much for your time,

JA

Usually, it points to an issue in communication in your network, with the speakers being unable to contact the authorization system run by Apple Music for some small period of time. I believe once they’ve ‘unauthorized’, they won’t automatically authorize until you force the issue by disconnecting and reconnecting the service. <\>

I’d be looking at checking the local network first, since you have control over that, but if the issue is between your modem and the Apple server itself, say a DNS issue, there’s not much you can do but complain to your ISP. But I suspect that’s an issue in less than 1% of the cases. Most often, it’s local. <\>
post__content__best_answer"}>

This seems like a very common problem. I have tried other threads here but so far none have resolved this issue.

As far as I can see this only seems to affect Android. My daughter uses iPhone without issues.

When I select Reauthorize I get a spinning pink progress bar then a white screen. It progress no further forwards.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sonos but to no avail. I have an Oppo A74 5G running Android 11, I also tried my older device running Android 8.1.0 but that now exhibits the same issue.

My Sonos system is up to date and contains 3 other speakers 2 Play:1’s and a Play:3. I’m using Sonos S2.

Any help would be very welcome otherwise this speaker is junk.

Thanks

Hi, the Sonos controller recently said I needed to reauthorize Apple Music. When I followed the instructions and input my Apple id the Sonos app screen just blanked and stayed like that. I tried removing the Apple Music service completely and re-adding it. At the point of selecting ‘I’m already a member’ (of Apple Music), same outcome with screen just blanking out to white. Help please Sonos - I’m so bored of having problems with your system...
