CLEVELAND — There will be a few new places for you to watch Guardians baseball in 2022. The team released its regular season broadcast schedule on Wednesday, less than 24 hours before the first game in Kansas City. That contest as well as 154 others will be on Bally Sports Great Lakes for television purposes, with all 162 games also airing on flagship station WTAM 1100 via the Guardians Radio Network. Full schedule via CleGuardians.com From there, things get a little interesting, as Cleveland will have 11 nationally televised games beginning in late May. However, some of these games won't be available on television, per se. Thanks to a new deal with Major League Baseball, both Apple TV+ (Friday nights) and Peacock (Sundays) will be streaming exclusive action throughout the season. Four of these games will involve the Guardians, with one even starting on a Sunday morning. Here's a look at the Guardians' internet schedule:
The games on these services are not free, so fans will have to fork over some cash if they want to watch the Guards rather than listen to them on the radio. For those seeking a more conventional option, FOX has picked up three exclusive games as part of its "Baseball Night in America" Saturday slate. All will start at 7:15 p.m.:
In addition, three Saturday afternoon games and one late-night game will be on FS1 as well as Bally. First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m., unless noted:
For the moment, Cleveland has no matchups scheduled for "MLB on TBS Tuesday Night" or ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball." It is still possible they could be flexed into those timeslots, particularly if they are in contention late in the season. Finally, WKYC remains your over-the-air "Home of the Guardians," and will simulcast two Bally-produced games this year. These include the April 15 home opener against the San Francisco Giants at 7:05 p.m., followed by an Aug. 15 showdown against the Tigers at 7:10. Although most of the Guardians' season will air on local TV, that still may not be an option for some fans, as Bally owner Sinclair remains in several carriage disputes with providers like Dish Network and YouTube TV. Neither side has given any indication a deal will be struck. On the radio, 143 games will also be on 100.7 WMMS, although that number could be altered if the Cavaliers end up going on a playoff run. A full list of AM and FM affiliates on the Guardians Radio Network can be found here.
