What is she knows by j cole about

Almost eight months after dropping his sophomore album Born Sinner, J. Cole continues to roll out captivating music videos for the project, and the latest is for "She Knows."

The Roc Nation rapper premiered the clip on his Dreamvillainblog Friday (February 14), just in time for Valentine's Day. The song itself features vocals from the Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman and finds Cole rapping about struggles with infidelity. It's a pretty straight forward issue, but Cole puts a little twist on that, delivering another great plot-driven visual like his "Power Trip" video.

The new video follows a teenager who steals money from his parents to spend during a day playing hooky from school -- smoking, drinking beer and skating. A police officer interrupts the carefree fun and a brief chase on foot leads him back to his house.

In the middle of the day the teen is surprised to walk in on his mother and another man at home. That man, of course, happens to be J. Cole. No words are exchanged in the moment and needless to say, dinner was pretty awkward that night. On the track "Trouble" Cole spits the line, "Mama, did you f--- J. Cole?" Guess it all comes full circle.

The song “She Knows” by J. Cole is one about temptation. The artist is communicating his constant struggle when it comes to avoiding committing acts that will otherwise jeopardize good things that he has such as: his relationship, mental state, and money. The artist also reflects on the extent by which he can live up to expectations set by others in his life. Through this, the contrast between pain and pleasure becomes less salient.

The North Carolina rapper goes between prioritizing the pleasures of the present moment and long term commitment. J. Cole constantly makes reference to a female in his life that sees the good in him, despite the fact that he continuously lets her down. This woman may be exaggerated to appear as an ultimate good in order to better highlight the destructive nature of his impulsive temptations. These same temptations lead to conflict in his life, causing the reflection on the current state of his affairs. This is prominent in the lyrics as he raps that “she knows, I can’t be what you want from me”.

This theme is expanded upon visually in the music video. The music video features a young man that ditches school to hang out with his friend. It is clear that he knows that he is not supposed to be doing what he is doing, but he does anyways. While hanging out with his friend, they are chased by a police officer for entering private property. This can be depicted as the negative implications of following impulsive temptations. As a side plot, the kid returns back to his home later that day to find that his mother is cheating on his father with another man- J. Cole. This scene multiplies the intensity of the message as the audience becomes aware of the various implications that temptation can have on ones life and most importantly, on the lives of others. Despite the fact that J. Cole is giving into his own selfish desires and jeopardizing his own relationship, he is also jeopardizing the state of another family and the actions of the young man. This shows the cyclical and destructive nature of acting upon surface level temptation in society, ultimately suggesting that his audience ought to be more careful about what they choose to and not to do.

An old J. Cole song is the score to a new TikTok meme about intuition. The trend uses an 8-year-old track from the rapper’s album Born Sinner called “She Knows.” TikTokers are using the song to share the times that they could feel something in their gut was true. And people are getting pretty vulnerable.

In 2013 the rapper J. Cole released his critically acclaimed album Born Sinner. The track “She Knows” was the second single off the album. The lyrics discuss J. Cole’s experiences with infidelity. The premise is that his girlfriend knows he is cheating and he feels guilty about it.

“This is Martin Luther King in the club, getting dubs / With a bad b**** in his ear, sayin’ that she down for whatever / In the back of his mind is Coretta,” J. Cole rapped in the part used on TikTok.

“And she knows, she knows / And I know she knows, and I know she knows / And deep down, she knows, she knows / And I know she knows, and I know she knows.”
