Rihanna is pregnant with her first child! The 33-year-old singer is expecting her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky.

Over the weekend, Rihanna showed off her bare baby bump in a pink coat and jeans while she held hands with her 33-year-old beau. The couple was in A$AP's hometown of Harlem in New York City.

A source tells ET that the couple is feeling very blessed that they're having a baby together, and that they already considered themselves a family but having a baby together makes that bond even stronger. 

"They enjoyed keeping the pregnancy a secret for as long as they could, but they're thrilled to be able to share the news with their fans," the source says.

According to another source, Rihanna and A$AP wanted to shoot their pregnancy announcement in Harlem because that's where A$AP grew up and it's a place that brings them both a lot of comfort. "They feel really at home in Harlem," the source says. "His upbringing in Harlem shaped so much of who he is -- and it hasn't always been easy. This was a happy milestone and it felt right to shoot the photos where it all started."

The source notes that the photos were taken early Friday morning, and Rihanna is wearing vintage Chanel. "They are such night owls, but they wanted to shoot these pics discreetly," adds the source. "It was important for Rihanna to make this announcement on her terms. She couldn't really hide it any longer!" 

After the baby news broke, a few celebs took to social media to express their excitement.

Nicki Minaj posted pics from their maternity photo shoot along with heart-eyed and prayer emojis, and the message, "Congrats RIH!!!!"

Meanwhile, Cardi B posted, "OMG!!!! Congrats @BadGalRiRi"

Khloe Kardashian wrote, "This makes me so happy."

"Holy slay," Bella Hadid posted. "Congrats to the Holy Duo!!"

Rihanna has made it no secret that she wants to be a mother. In March 2020, she told British Vogue that she wanted three or four kids by the time she was 42 -- with or without a partner.

"I feel like society makes me want to feel like, 'Oh, you got it wrong…' They diminish you as a mother if there's not a dad in your kids' lives," she told the magazine. "But the only thing that matters is happiness, that's the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That's the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love."

In her 2018 Vogue interview, she talked about what type of parent she would be.

"I'm not gonna be able to take my eyes off my kid," she said. "I know that already about myself. They're going to have to force me to hire a nanny."

Rihanna and A$AP have been dating since 2020, and in May, A$AP called Rihanna the love of his life in an interview with GQ.

"Relationships are] so much better when you got the One," he told the magazine. "She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones."

"I think when you know, you know. She's the One," he added.

Last July, a source also told ET that the two are "madly in love."

"They barely leave each other's side... A$AP is so grateful for Rihanna," the source said. "She's his biggest cheerleader and he doesn't take her for granted."

Clearly, the two are still going strong. A source told ET in January that Rihanna and A$AP's relationship was in "a good place" as they were spotted out on fashionable date nights in New York City.

"After a very busy fall with professional commitments, they took some time to relax and unwind and really reconnect with each other," the source said.

An eyewitness during their recent date at Pastis restaurant in New York City told ET that they "didn't take their eyes off each other" and that A$AP was attentive to Rihanna.

"They are so sweet and affectionate," the eyewitness said. "There were a lot of fans outside trying to catch a glimpse of them, and he was super protective of her and made sure she could get through the crowd safely."

Baby on the way! Ever since we found out she was pregnant, fans have been curious to know Rihanna’s baby’s gender. Social media users quickly drummed up their own theories—but now, we finally know if Rih had a baby boy or girl.

Rihanna, 33, reportedly welcomed her first child with ASAP Rocky, 33, on May 13, 2022, per TMZ. Their baby was born in Los Angeles, California, despite earlier reports speculating that the singer planned to give birth to her baby in her home country of Barbados. The “Love on the Brain” singer debuted her baby bump for the first time in January 2022 with a maternity photoshoot alongside her boyfriend ASAP Rocky, 33, in Harlem, NY. In the photos—which you can see here—the “Umbrella” singer wore low-rise jeans and a long puffer jacket, which she unbuttoned past her belly button to show off her growing bump.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly following the pregnancy reveal, Rihanna and ASAP are “both very excited to be parents.” The insider noted, “ASAP is obsessed with Rihanna and feels he has never loved her more than when she’s pregnant,” adding, “Rihanna has wanted to be a mother for many years now and she’s so thrilled it’s finally happening.”

Rih and ASAP, who officially started dating in 2020 after being friends for several years, have both spoken about their plans to start a family in the past. In May 2021, ASAP opened up about their relationship publicly for the first time in an interview with GQ Magazine, calling Rih “the one” and “the love of my life” before sharing his thoughts on fatherhood. “If that’s in my destiny, absolutely,” he said at the time. While he didn’t mention the Fenty Beauty founder outright, the “Praise the Lord” rapper did reflect on what kind of dad he would be—and how he imagined his future child would turn out. “I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad,” he said. “I would have a very fly child. Very.”

Rihanna, for her part, has also spoken about her desire to be a mother one day. “I know I will want to live differently [in 10 years],” the lingerie designer told Vogue in 2020. “I’ll have kids — three or four of ’em.” She also revealed to Interview Magazine in 2019 that she wanted children “more than anything in life.”

So, what is Rihanna’s baby’s gender? According to TMZ, Rihanna welcomed a baby boy with ASAP Rocky. At the time of this article’s publication, however, Rihanna nor ASAP has yet to confirm the reports.

Speculation about Rihanna’s baby’s gender has circulated for months ever since the singer announced her pregnancy. Following her pregnancy photoshoot in early 2022, social media users couldn’t help but take notice of what they believed to be a major hint: Rihanna’s jacket—an $8,000 vintage Chanel coat—was bright pink. Naturally, many fans took this to mean that the “Umbrella” singer was having a baby girl.

“Rihanna told us she’s having a girl without telling us. Peep the pink,” one social media user wrote on Twitter. Another weighed in, “Rihanna is definitely having a girl, idk why no one is talking about the fact she wore a PINK Chanel jacket to reveal her pregnancy.” A third social media user added, “Why do I feel like the pink coat indicates that she’s having a mini her, just tell us you’re having a girl Riri.”

A shopping trip by the “Diamonds” singer in March 2022 only continued to fuel these theories. At the time, Rih was spotted perusing racks of baby clothes at Target (a relatable queen) and picking out a ruffed orange dress, according to photos obtained by The Daily Mail.

In the past, Rih has hinted at her desire to raise a strong Black woman like herself, telling Essence in 2019, “I’m a Black woman. I came from a Black woman, who came from a Black woman, who came from a Black woman and I’m going to give birth to a Black woman. It’s a no-brainer. That’s who I am. It’s the core of who I am in spirit and DNA.” She added at the time, “My mother is an incredible example of how to fight through obstacles in life. I’m sure her mom taught her that and that’s how I’m going to be. We are impeccable, we’re special and the world is going to have to deal with that.”
