Born in 2006, Oliver Shane Hawkins is the first son of Alison Hawkins and the late Taylor Hawkins.

Currently, he is 16 years old.

Shane has two other siblings - Annabelle, 13, and Everleigh, 8.

He recently gained media attention after he played drums on stage at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London on September 3, 2022.

In a moving tribute, Shane Hawkins played the drums for a heartfelt rendition of My Hero.

Dave Grohl welcomed Shane to the stage following a series of A-list drummers including Travis Barker and Roger Taylor.

Speaking to the audience, he said: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have one more drummer that’s going to come up and play with us.

“And let me tell you I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hit the drums as hard as this person, but beyond that, he’s a member of our family.

“And he needs to be here tonight with all of us, and I think it makes sense that he’s going to come up and play with us tonight.

“Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome Mr. Shane Hawkins on the drums.”

Who was Taylor Hawkins?

Born Oliver Taylor Hawkins in Fort Worth, Texas in 1972, however, he was raised in Laguna Beach, California.

Hawkins was the youngest of three, with an older brother and sister, Jason and Heather.

He graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 1990, where he had been friends with Yes lead vocalist Jon Davison.

The American musician was best known as the drummer of the rock band Foo Fighters.

Before joining the Foo Fighters in 1997, Hawkins played for the small band Sylvia before landing his first major job as a drummer for Canadian singer Sass Jordan.

In the mid-90s, he was the drummer on Alanis Morrissette's tour before Dave Grohl asked him to join The Foo Fighters.

What was Talor Hawkins' net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Taylor Hawkins had an estimated net worth of approximately $40million prior to his death.

His main source of wealth was said to be from his career in the music industry.

He also earned income from brand endorsements and sponsoships.

Oliver Shane, son of the late Taylor Hawkins, played with the Foo Fighters during their tribute show over the weekend, to honour and celebrate the life of his father.

The 16-year-old joined the band's six-hour tribute concert for a rendition of the Foofighters' 1997 classic hit My Hero.

The crowd was cheering Shane on as he performed his skills on the drum kit, a clip that was both recorded and published on different social media platforms.

During Shane's performance, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl turned to the teenager, smiling at him as they bought the song to an end.

The concert took place at London’s Wembley Arena, where other big stars including Elton John, Liam Gallagher and Paul McCartney made guest appearances alongside Shane.

This is the first time the band has played together since Hawkins died on 25 March, hours before the Foo Fighters were meant to begin their world tour.

Hawkins was found unresponsive in his hotel in Bogotá, Colombia - a urine toxicology test found 10 different drugs in his system.

Hawkins' wife of over 15 years, Alison, tweeted about her husband's death more than two months after he passed away, tweeting "Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief."

The concert was organised with Hawkins’ family, "to celebrate the life, music and love of their husband, father, brother and bandmate".

Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane performed with Foo Fighters to deliver an emotional rendition of “My Hero” Saturday at the London tribute concert in honor of his late father.

On a night where the Foo Fighters employed a “revolving door” of all-star drummers — Travis Barker, Josh Freese, Rufus Taylor, Nandi Bushell, Omar Hakim and more — during their Wembley Stadium set, the final drummer of the evening was, fittingly, Hawkins’ 16-year-old son, who has long followed in his father’s footsteps behind the kit.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have one more drummer that’s going to come up and play with us, and let me tell you I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hit the drums as hard as this person, but beyond that, he’s a member of our family.” Dave Grohl told the audience.

“And he needs to be here tonight with all of us, and I think it makes sense that he’s going to come up and play with us tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome Mr. Shane Hawkins on the drums.”

The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert also featured Paul McCartney’s first-ever live performance of the Beatles’ “Oh! Darling,” the reunion of Them Crooked Vultures and a parade of one-night-only supergroups, including Liam Gallagher leading the Foo Fighters through a pair of Oasis songs, Hawkins’ side projects Chevy Metal and Coattail Riders combining forces along with Kesha and the Darkness’ Justin Hawkins, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson and Metallica’s Lars Ulrich rocking out with the Foos, Grohl drumming for Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson and more.

Foo Fighters and an as-yet-unannounced lineup of all-star artists will return to the stage Sept. 27 for another Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. Proceeds from both shows will benefit Music Support and MusiCares.

Footage has been shared of Foo Fighters performing ‘My Hero’ with late drummer Taylor Hawkins‘ son Shane from the first of two tribute concerts over the weekend.

The 16-year-old got behind the drums for the 1997 hit, which he previously performed in tribute to his late father in July, with the band at Wembley Stadium over the weekend.

Following a performance of Hawkins’ favourite song of the band’s ‘Aurora’ with David Bowie‘s drummer Omar Hakim, Grohl announced: “Now, we’ve got the little guy. Let me tell you, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hit the drums as hard as this person. But beyond that, he’s a member of our family and he needs to be here tonight with all of us and I think it makes sense that he’s going to come up and play with us tonight.”

A photo of Shane and his dad was shown on the big screen as the young drummer kicked off the performance of the 1997 single, which you can view below. With Grohl cheering him on, Shane finished the song with a blistering solo.

At its opening on Saturday September 3, the event was promised by Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl to be “a gigantic fucking night for a gigantic fucking person” – spanning nearly six hours with a set list of 50 songs.

Foo Fighters also notably performed for the first time since Hawkins’ untimely passing back in March.

Liam Gallagher kicked off the night’s musical offerings, performing two classic Oasis songs with members of Foo Fighters, while Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith shared a touching video story.

Later, Grohl’s teenage daughter, Violet, took to the stage to perform Jeff Buckley covers, accompanied by her father, Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures’ Alain Johannes and Jane’s Addiction‘s Chris Chaney.

The night saw Them Crooked Vultures reunite for the first time in 12 years, while
Supergrass performed three songs for their “huge fan” Hawkins.

Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich and AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson joined forces on a pair of AC/DC covers, while Mark Ronson and Violet Grohl covered ‘Valerie’.

Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor then joined Foo Fighters for a five-song set, while The Eagles‘ Joe Walsh led a reunited James Gang in their first live performance in 16 years. Calling them the “one band that I always associated Taylor Hawkins with” Grohl joined the surviving members of Rush, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, on stage to perform a handful of the band’s biggest hits.

The final set of the night saw Paul McCartney, Travis Barker, Nandi Bushell, Rufus Taylor (son of Roger Taylor), Josh Freese and Devo join Foo Fighters on stage for ‘Times Like These’, ‘All My Life’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Monkey Wrench’, ‘Learn To Fly’, ‘These Days’, ‘Best Of You’, ‘Aurora’, ‘My Hero’ and ‘Everlong’.

Hawkins, who drummed with Foo Fighters from 1997, died in March 2022, aged 50.

A second tribute show will take place at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on September 27.
