We are less than three months away from The Bachelorette Season 19, Bachelor Nation! A new journey to find love is about to begin. Both Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey will share the spotlight as the first two Bachelorettes to share a season at the same time! Although we already have some idea of what this season will feature, it won’t make its television debut until July 11th.

The franchise has seen a lot during the first 18 seasons of the show. Trista Rehn kicked off the spin-off series after finishing as the runner-up in The Bachelor Season 1. In preparation for the upcoming season, let’s take a look back at the first five female leads and where they are now.

The Bachelorette Season 1: Trista Rehn

Trista Rehn was featured as the first Bachelorette in the franchise. Having finished second on The Bachelor Season 1 Trista received the first opportunity to participate for the women. Over the course of six weeks, Trista got to know 25 eligible bachelors and decided on the 29-year-old firefighter from Vail, Colorado, Ryan Sutter.

The two got engaged at the end of the season and received $1 million from ABC for the rights to their wedding. This premiered in a three-part series with over 26 million people tuning in making it one of the most viewed events in reality tv history.

The couple resides in Eagle County, Colorado where Ryan continues to be a firefighter in Vail. Together they have two children, a son, and a daughter. According to a recent Instagram post, Trista and Ryan recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. Her profile is filled with pictures of family travels and adventures. In her bio, she lists her occupation as the author of the Better Etc podcast. This is in addition to being a travel enthusiast, original Bachelorette, and proud hockey and dance mom.

The Bachelorette Season 2: Meredith Phillips

After being sent home early on The Bachelor Season 4 by Bob Guiney, Meredith was selected to be the lead on The Bachelorette Season 2. The then 30-year-old makeup artist had 25 contestants lined up waiting to meet her. In seven short weeks, Meredith chose Ian McKee, the 29-year-old equity research salesman from New York City. The two were engaged at the end of the show but broke it off in 2005.

In between relationships Meredith resumed her passion for cooking and authored a cookbook, The Date Night Cookbook. Six years after calling it off with Ian Meredith married her high school sweetheart Michael Brody. She has a small catalog of photos on Instagram. What we can tell is that she loves to cook and loves her dog, Marion. Since her time on The Bachelorette, Meredith has seemed to slip out of the spotlight.

The Bachelorette Season 3: Jennifer Schefft

The third Bachelorette had an interesting journey in her season of the show. After getting engaged to The Bachelor Season 3 lead, Andrew Firestone, the couple called it off after a few months. Jennifer returned to the franchise to lead The Bachelorette Season 3. The then 30-year-old publicist faced down 25 contestants and refused them all… at least initially.

During the After the Final Rose episode, Jennifer picked Jerry Ferris the then 29-year-old art gallery director from Los Angeles, California. However, Jennifer rejected his proposal because there wasn’t chemistry between them, but she picked him so…

In 2009 she went on to marry Joe Waterman a public relations executive in Chicago. They have two daughters together. Her Instagram shows their family and her life as a mother, wife, author, and host of the From the Bachelor to the Burbs podcast.

The Bachelorette Season 4: DeAnna Pappas

After being eliminated in week 8 of The Bachelor Season 8, DeAnna set out to find love on her own terms in The Bachelorette Season 4. The 27-year-old real estate agent faced 25 men narrowing it down to one, Jesse Csincsak. The 26-year-old professional snowboarder proposed to DeAnna and she accepted. Although they were set to be wed in May of 2009, they split six months before. the big day. Fun Fact: DeAnna’s season was the first season of The Bachelorette to have 120-minute episodes as opposed to the traditional 60-minute episode.

A year and three months after their planned marriage, DeAnna got engaged to Stephen Stagliano. His brother Michael Stagliano was a contestant on The Bachelorette Season 5. DeAnna and Stephen wed in 2011. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. According to her Instagram page, DeAnna is a tv host, traveler, wife, and mother. She also has a blog and podcast.
