She doesn't even run for treats, and will only eat them if I put them by her feet. When I can get her to take a treat from my hand, she'll drop them more often. I took her to the vet when I saw the obsessive grooming. I got her a rabies shot, dewormed, urinalysis, blood profile, antibiotic shot, and also left with some antibiotics + soft/wet food for a UTI. I was told she had mouth ulcers, but wasn't told how to treat that. She hasn't lost or gained any weight in years (steady 12 lbs). There was also Atopica for allergies that I picked up a couple of days later, and I was told her blood profile "came back good". When I gave her Atopica was when her lethargy began. She HATES the medicine, and immediately begins salivating intensely when I give it to her. I tried to combine it with treats after, hoping she'll be more receptive, but she usually refuses to eat after the medicine, and will drop the treats a few times before she can eat them. In addition (and I've taken her to the vet for this several times before), she's been drinking a lot, and she's always had a very sensitive stomach and lots of hairballs, so she vomits almost every other day. --- I was gone for a month before this all started. The cats live with my aunt and I, so I don't think this was a bother for them. But while I was gone, my aunt switched their food to 9 Lives because they seemed to like it well and it was a cheaper alternative. We also recently took on a very sweet outdoor cat. But being outside with him, we tend to bring fleas indoors. Two of my cats might also not really like the flea collars we use? And now my grandma has been having back to back surgeries. So not only am I stressed, but I'm (along with my aunt) gone a lot from the house. I've switched back to their old random Friskies diet, as well as some Purina Gentle Diet hard food, thinking maybe she was allergic to the 9 Lives (since that was the next big change besides a new outdoor cat). I feel like any number of these things could be the cause of her lethargy. I rule out age simply because she had played some pretty active fetch since I'd been home (and she's only 11). I'm not sure if she's dying, and I'm afraid to take her to the vet because she gets soooo stressed out and needs gabapentin to calm her, and I really don't want to keep giving her drugs. I need help with any direction. Her left eye has became goopy with mucous the past two days and she's not able to open it all the way, her nose is dry, but she's drinking. I'm afraid another vet will tell me to put her down and miss something that could help her. I've had her from 3 days old and she's 15 now. We have had cats, because they don't go out, live until 19, 20 and 21. This cat fights for her life when I take her to the vet, I know she doesn't want to die and I'm scared of a misdiagnosis.
