Why is there a blue dot on my Samsung screen?

Hi So a very small blue dot appeared on my screen and I kow its a dead pixel.I just want to know wheater will it spread or not.My phone is not under warrnanty so Screen replacement is not an option.

   The blue dot is NOT next to a contact or a message. Instead is it on the opening screen of the message app in the upper left corner next to the three lines (hamburger?). So it's to the left of the word "Conversation" at the top of the screen.

   Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which messaging app? If you tap the hamburger menu button, do you see a blue dot in the expanded menu?

    Sorry! It's an S8 on Verizon.Using Message+. I have an app that displays the time and date in the upper left corner but that does not effect the Message+ app. I hope you will be able to see the photo I'm attaching.

    Thanks. I'm using Message+ on Samsung Galaxy S8, Verizon. There's no blue dot in the expanded menu.

    Samsung does a similar thing in its apps. If you see an orange dot with an N in it, that means there is a new feature or menu option available.
