Alfie Solomons is a character from Peaky Blinders played by Tom Hardy. He is a rum distiller, a genius negotiator, and a vicious gangster. The Jewish gang leader quickly became a fan-favorite character for his eccentric personality. Tom Hardy has joined the cast of Peaky Blinders for season 2 in 2014. The French version of the character Alfie Solomons was played by Stéphane Pouplard, who lent his voice to actors like Kellan Lutz, Aaron Ashmore, Gabriel Hogan and John Krasinski. Solomon distrusts Shelby, insulting her Roma heritage and reminding her of her betrayal and the murder of Billy Kimber. However, Shelby tells Solomon that he is losing the war and will need protection. Shelby offers to tip the police in favor of Solomon. Shelby eventually gives Solomon 100 guards under Billy Kitchen, and the two decide to team up against the Sabini gang. Shelby confronts him on the beach, where Solomon reveals to him that he is dying of skin cancer, and asks him to end his suffering. Shelby was reluctant to shoot, so Solomon shot Shelby in the side, forcing Shelby to shoot Solomon in the face in self-defense. Despite having been shot in the face in season four by Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), the season five finale confirmed Solomons was still alive and secretly living in Margate. He didn’t survive without injury though, having gone blind in one eye. In the second episode of season six, Shelby visited Solomons and convinced him to go into business together to sell opium abroad to help “shift the balance of power” against Jack Nelson (James Frecheville). Peaky Blinders comes to an end with season six, with spin-offs and a feature-length film already in the pipeline. Speaking to NME about season six, show creator Steven Knight said: “I’m seeing this as the end of the beginning rather than the beginning of the end.” In NME’s first look review of the final season, it reads: “Impressively, there’s nothing about the return of Peaky Blinders that feels forced, contrived – and that hasn’t always been the case in the five-preceding series. These are characters in which so much has been invested, and yet whose stories still have so much to play out. “Best of all, we’ve got the return of Jewish mafioso Alfie Solomons still to come.
