Disney sing along songs: be our guest

  • Beauty and the Beast is not only my favourite Disney film but my favourite animated film of all time. As someone who loves the Disney Sing-Along-Song collection, I found this one Be Our Guest wonderful, being one of the more consistent songs-wise of the series. Some of the animation in the links is a tad on the rough side, but the animation in the featured films especially in the ballroom sequence Beauty and the Beast and Bella Notte is superb. As are the songs, the best are Be Our Guest for how rousing and glamorous it all is, Beauty and the Beast for being the ultimate dance scene of any animated film and Bella Notte for giving meaning to the term romantic. But World's Greatest Criminal Mind, being one of the best Disney villain songs in my opinion(Hellfire is the one that sends the most chills up my spine though), Spoonful of Sugar for Julie Andrews' ethereal vocals, Once Upon a Dream for its supremely beautiful melody and Heffalumps and Woozles for how wonderfully strange it is also delight. Likewise with the hosting of Jiminy Cricket, whose introductions are relevant, short and to the point. Overall, one of my favourites of the sing-along-series alongside Very Merry Christmas Songs and Zip a De Do Dah. 10/10 Bethany Cox

  • This is a direct-to-video special musical where you can read the on-screen lyrics and sing-along to some of your favorite Disney songs from various movies including Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, The Great Mouse Detective, and Sleeping Beauty. It's a wonderfully packaged video with a great arrangement of songs (including Be Our Guest, Bella Notte and Once Upon a Dream) played over Disney movie clips that will make you relive the magic, nostalgia and music from those movies. I remember buying this video from the Disney Store at the downtown mall and was glad to add it onto my family's Disney video collection. It's an excellent 30 min. program where you can just sit back and relax to and enjoy. And, if you have guests over, if you're up to it, you could pop in this video and do a Disney-style karaoke.

  • I remember receiving this video as a fifth birthday present and I loved it. This video also taught me how to pronounce 'guest' because I couldn't say it until then. All of the songs on there are memorable if not quite as catchy as some of those from '101 Notes of Fun' and 'Under the Sea' , especially those from 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Mary Poppins,' 'Heffalumps and Woozles,' 'Little Wooden Head,' 'Bella Notte,' 'Once Upon A Dream' and 'The World's Greatest Criminal Mind' from the underrated 'Basil the Great Mouse Detective.' I also liked the in-between segments with Jiminy Cricket - very appropriate for the inclusion of 'Little Wooden Head' since he and that song are from 'Pinocchio,' although the main film this collection represents is 'Beauty and the Beast.' While some collections carry a theme such as friendship on 'Friend Like Me,' music on '101 Notes of Fun' and the beach/sailing/underwater on 'Under the Sea,' I feel this collection doesn't follow a particular theme, which is only a minor gripe.

Despite some of the songs not being as catchy as those on other collections and this collection not having a theme, it is still worth watching to bring back childhood memories. 9/10.
